September 19, 2022, marked the formal opening of the ESOMAR Congress 2022 held in Toronto, Canada.
MarketMatters Inc. Managing Director, Noreen Acaylar, was among MORES representatives to the Congress, along with fellow board member, Ms. Gina Rose Ariston. They were joined by Ms. Vida Alaras and Ms. Rhea Lascano both from Aquila Market Research and Consulting Company and are also members of MORES.
The four-day Congress stirred the curiosity, passion and challenge-driven mind of researchers towards the future with the question, “What if…?” such as:
What If Data Science Enables Us To Integrate Human Understanding?
What If Insights Can Solve The Most Complex Issues In Society?
What If We Are Unequivocally Unapologetic About Quality?
What If Young Researchers Can Help “Build A Better World” For Today?
What If Accelerating Innovation Leads To Greater Impact?
And so many challenging what ifs.
Speakers and panelists shared valuable insights and knowledge from actual studies and experiences conducting surveys. All in all, it all boiled down to the significance of market research in understanding the world and keeping up with it. After all, market research is also responsible for shaping it. Thus, the market research global industry’s stand on inclusivity, representation, environmental and social responsibility are among principles emphasized during the Congress.
This year also marks the 75th anniversary of ESOMAR.
A Gala Dinner held at the Liberty Grand entitled, “What if everyone can be star for the night?” culminated the event with everyone wearing a literally shining star pin.
The next year’s congress will be held in Amsterdam.
